| 2. Scope of Work |
Government of Pakistan intends to develop land and water resources of the country for irrigated agriculture development, hydropower, flood control, socio economic uplift, emancipation of poor and needy women of the area. |

| 7. Salient Features |
118 ft high concrete faced rockfill dam (CRFD) will create gross storage of 121,790 AF and this storage will be used to irrigate 25,000 acres of Culturbale Command Area with high efficiency irrigation system alongwith hydropower generation of 450 KW. |

- PC-I approved by ECNEC in
its meeting held on September 3, 2009. - Revised PC-I amounting to Rs.13.632 Billion submitted to Ministry of Water & Power for arranging approval of ECNEC. - Project awarded to M/s Sinohydro-MAJ JV. Contract Agreement signed on 09.06.2010. The Contractor mobilized to site w.e.f June 30,2010. - Wapda established a school in the project area for better education of the people of the Project Area. In addition to school, vocational training institute is in process of setup for capacity building in local trades. - The Contractor established field camp, Engineers office. Completed Engineering Design of the Project. Work at Dam Site is at fast pace. - Rs. 1,000 Million allocated in PSDP 2011-12. No funds released yet. Immediate release of funds required to fulfill contractual obligations. |
