| OBJECTIVES | ||

1 |
To conduct and foster a comprehensive multidisciplinary basic and applied research programme in a coordinated fashion on Water logging and Salinity problems the solution of which would have a high potential for agricultural development and environmental improvements. | |

2 |
To establish working relationships with all National and International Institutes dealing with Water logging and Salinity in order to bring together the latest research and experience for (i) review and dissemination and (ii) to identity areas of fruitful research. | |

To develop practical solutions to problems associated with Water logging and Salinity and to introduce these in "real life" situations. | |

4 |
To carry out basic and applied research on water management problems associated with ground water and surface water relationships, crop yield, water uptake, drainage and salinity control. | |
