The proposed Naulong Storage Dam Project is located on Mula river at Sunt about 30 Kms from Gandawa City in Tehsil and District Jhal Magsi of Balochistan. |
| 2. Scope of Work |
Government of Pakistan intends to develop land and water resources of the country for irrigated agriculture development, hydropower, flood control, socio economic uplift, emancipation of poor and needy women of the area. |

* Irrigation of
47,000 acres of Culturable Command Area. * Hydropower Generation of 4.4 MW. * Flood Mitigation. * Women Emancipation * Socio-Economic uplift. |

| 7. Salient Features |
186 ft high zoned, Earth fill dam will create gross storage of 0.242 MAF and this storage will be used to irrigate 47,000 acres of Culturable Command Area with high efficiency irrigation system alongwith hydropower generation of 4.4 MW. |

- PC-I approved by ECNEC in its meeting held on September
3, 2009. - Revised PC-I amounting to Rs.26.249 Billion submitted to Ministry of Water & Power for arranging approval of ECNEC. - Tenders for construction received and opened on April 17, 2010. - The Contract of Naulong Dam Project is under award to the lowest bidder M/s Descon Zargoon JV Wapda Authority approved the award subject to availability of funding for construction of work . LOI issued to M/s Descon Zargoon JV on April 12,2011. - Government of Balochistan assured full security arrangements for the construction of the project. - M/s Descon and Sionhydro are submitting proposal for construction of the project with likely financing from Exim Bank of China. - Rs. 1,000 Million allocated in PSDP 2011-12. No funds released yet. - Funds amounting to Rs. 2,500 Million required in 2011-12 for implementation of the project. |
