Location

Chashma Right Bank Canal (lift-Cum-Gravity) Project is located in piedmont flood plain of the hills torrents emerging from Suleman range to debouch into Indus River. Command area is located approximately between 31o-15' to 32o-30' North and 70o-15' to 71o-30' East in D.I Khan district of NWFP. Project boundaries are:-

Eastern side            Existing CRB (Gravity) Canal

Western side           Proposed Lift-Cum-Gravity Canal

Southern side          provincial boundary with Punjab

Northern side           Khaisor mountain range

Approval Status PC-1 of the project remained under consideration of planning Commission. The cost is updated to July 2008 level and PC-I is under re-submission to planning Commission.

    • Detailed Engineering & Tender Documents completed on Feb.29,2004 by M/s NDC joint venture.
    • PC-I (Rs 25.399 Billion ) submitted to GOP/GO NWFP for approval on July 31,2004.Discussed in CDWP meeting held on 7.3.2005.Replies to the observations of CDWP sent to ministry of Water & Power on 25.6.2005.
    • EIA Report cleared by EPA ,NWFP.
    • The cost of the Project updated in July 2008 and PC-I is under resubmission on the directions from Deputy Speaker, National Assembly and Ministry of Water & Power
    • Budget allocation of RS 250 million made in the PDSP 2007-08
