The dam site is located in District Lasbela near Aghor on Hingol river in Balochistan Province at a distance of 233 Kms North West of Karachi and about 8 Kms North of Kund Malir where the river falls into the sea.

Present Status
  • Feasibility study completed by NESPAK in 1992.
  • PC-II Proforma Rs.78.230 million for detailed engineering design and tender documents approved by CDWP on August 2,2001.
  • Revised PC-II amounting to Rs.177.286 has been approved by CDWP on 17.07.2009.
  • The proposed site has been shifted 16 KM upstream to original site to facilitate the demands of Hindu Community to maintain the sanctity of Hinglaj temple
  • The consultants identified the new site draft Project Planning report received from the consultants. Further studies are in progress.
  • Due to financial constraints progress is slow.
  • The original bid opening date was September 21, 2009. The revised bid opening date is December 13, 2010.
  • Revised PC-I was submitted to Planning commission which was referred to PEC. GM (P&D) along with his team and project consultants made a detailed briefing to the panel formulated PEC to review the PC-I. Minutes has been received from PEC. Suggestions is incorporated.
