Location

The Project is located on the right side of existing Jinnah Barrage, 5 km from Kalabagh town in District Mianwali and 234 km from Islamabad.

Construction of 96 MW Hydropower Project
Objectives/Benefits
To produce mean annual  hydroelectricity of 688 GWH.

Date of Completion 
First unit is expected to be commissioned in December, 2011 and all the 8 units will be completed upto December 2012.
Project Cost As Per PC-I
PC-I of the Project approved on 02-09-2002 for Rs. 13546.8 Million with FEC of Rs. 6608.221 Million.

PRESENT STATUS /PROGRESS
Physical  Progress *87.73%
* The Physical Progress of the Project before the flooding event  of July 2010 was 95.5%. Due to the adverse effects of the flood, it had been reduced to 77.5%.
 
JINNAH HPP
The Status of works at Project site is as under.
-  Tentative civil works Progress is 99.12%.
-  All works in Headrace/Tailrace  Channels are completed and the erection works of unit #1 are almost
   completed except the generator. It is reported that the commissioning of Unit #1 will be started at the end
   of November, 2011.
O&M Staff Colony
- PC-I for the construction of O&M staff colony was approved on 19-11-2009 for Rs. 253.07 million.
Latest Status
 

- A Team of CDO (Water) WAPDA visited the site on 27th July 2011 and advised the project authorities to carry out certain field tests at the proposed location in order to evaluate the critical design parameters. On the basis of these results the confirmation of the location and relative changes in the design of O&M staff colony will be carried out. 
- CMTL has been asked to visit the proposed site for colony to take the samples for the test as recommended by CDO, WAPDA.
- CMTL has submitted the initial analysis report. The teazm of CMTL will again visit the project site for making more bore holes at the proposed location after which final analysis report will be submitted by CMTL.
