Location

Palas Valley is the left bank tributaries of Indus River in Kohistan District, Khyber Pukhtunkhwa. The confluence of Chor nullah (Palas Valley) is located 12 km upstream of Patan town. The project is located 335 km from Islamabad.

Feasibility study of Lower Palas Hydropower Projects.

Feasibility study of 665 MW Hydropower Project to produce mean annual energy of 2658 GWh.

PRESENT STATUS/PROGRESS  

 

·        KfW of Germany is financing under grant for preparation of feasibility study of he project. M/s ILF of Germany JVs has been appointed as consultants for the project studies. Consultancy Contract Agreement was signed on 29.07.2006 and Consultants mobilized in August 2006.

·        The Consultants finalized the Phase-I study Ranking and Pre-feasibility study of hydropower projects in February 29, 2008.

·        As per Phase-I, study Lower Palas Schemes 621 MW is ranked first to be taken up for feasibility study. The other identified projects are middle Palas 398 MW and upper Palas 157 MW.

·        The Consultants have completed Phase-II. Feasibility study of Lower Palas Schemes 665 MW.
          The Feasibility Report has been finalized in June 2010.
