Location

Spat Gah is the left bank tributaries of Indus River in Kohistan District, Khyber Pukhtunkhwa. The confluence of Spat Gah is located 8 km downstream of Dasu town, 35 km up stream of Patan town. The project is located 365 km from Islamabad.

To prepare feasibility study of 496 MW hydropower project to produce mean annual energy of 2106 GWH.

PROJECT CONSULTANTS

PRESENT STATUS  / PROGRESS 

 

·        KfW of Germany is financing under grant for preparation of feasibility study of the project. M/s ILF of Germany JVs have been appointed as consultants for the project studies. Consultancy Contract Agreement was signed on 29.07.2006 and Consultants were mobilized in August 2006.

.        As per Phase-I Study, Lower Spat Gah Scheme (567 MW) is ranked first and taken up for feasibility study. The other identified projects are Middle Gabarband (489 MW) and upper Spat Gah (252 MW).

.        As per Phase-II, after having site investigations and data collection, the Consultants submitted Draft Feasibility Report of 496 MW Lower Spat Gah Scheme in November 2009.

.        After incorporating comments of WAPDA, KfW and POE, the Consultants have submitted the Feasibility Report in June 2010.

.        WAPDA Authority in its meeting on 31-08-2010 has decided to implement Lower Spat Gah Scheme in Public Private Partrnerhsip (PPP) Mode. EOI documents for PPP mode have been prepared in Consultation with CCC, WAPDA and IPDF, Islamabad.

.        EOI Notice has been published in the local newspaper on 12-07-2011. EOI documents are being issued tyo interested sponsors. The last date for submission of EOI initially fixed as on 01.10.2011, has extended to 18.11.2011. Three bids are submitted and the evaluation of bids is in progress.
